Russian River Fishing

Russian River in Alaska is a popular fishing destination for sockeye salmon. The location of the river in the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska makes it ideal for fish migration. It is fed by glaciers, providing cold water perfect for habitat and salmon. Visitors to the Russian River can participate in sport fishing by wading in the river or fishing from boats. A fishing permit is required and can be obtained through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The peak sockeye salmon season on the Russian River runs from mid-July to mid-August, when thousands of salmon return to the river to spawn.
